Over on the FliteTest forum, members have been challenged to build the lightest FT Mini Scout they can, while still keeping the size 100% and the proportions stock.
I ordered a WLToys F949 Cessna 182 with a 1S power system and robbed all its electronics, transmitter and all in an attempt to give my model the lightest pay load possible. Then, I also cut out as much foam as I could, cladding the wings with cling film and the tail with tape. It doesn't have a lot of muscle, but it flies - with an all up weight of just 74 grams. That's just 18g above the Cessna 182 I robbed the parts from! :D
