Meet Latvia's brand new low-floor EMU Škoda 16Ev electric passenger train in Riga, Latvia. Over many years, Pasažieru vilciens was struggling to buy new modern trains, but it has finally happened. First trainsets are now undergoing testing and certification and will start to carry passengers in 2023. These new Skoda trains for Latvia are built by Škoda Transpotation (Škoda Vagonka) and will be operated by "Pasažieru vilciens". The rail infrastructure is managed by "Latvijas Dzelzceļš".
