The Newton teachers' strike continued into its eighth day, leaving thousands of students home from school and many parents frustrated. Newton mother Lital Asher-Dotan filed a lawsuit asking a judge to order an end to the strike. She spoke with Tori Bedford about the impact on her children. Then, Massachusetts Teachers Association president Max Page joined Tori to discuss what teachers need to return to work.
Then, “Barbie” fans expressed outrage when neither Margot Robbie nor Greta Gerwig received Oscar nominations for Best Actress and Best Director respectively for the film. But the movie did garner eight nominations, including Best Picture. And more female directors were nominated for Best Director this year than ever before. So, was “Barbie” really snubbed in the Oscar nominations? GBH's Callie Crossley says emphatically yes. She joined Tori to explain why.
