This week we hiked a portion of the Highline Trail. An "in & out" hike that totals about 6.3 miles. There will be scenic views, big trees, big manzanita, and huge outcroppings of red rock. The trail itself will be typical Highline, a single-track with lots of minor ups/downs and twists and steps and things to trip over, alternating shade and sun.

Trailhead from Payson: Drive 260 east about a half mile past milepost 272, turn left onto the Christopher Creek Loop. Drive one mile until you reach FR284 on the left, directly across from the Tall Pines Country Market. Take dirt road FR284 1.6 miles to the end and park at the See Canyon Trailhead. NOTE: The 284 can be driven in a regular car, but it's lumpy in places and you'll be happier in a high-clearance vehicle.
