While I don’t work on the latissimus dorsi (lat) muscle extremely frequently, I do have people come to me once in a while who have pain associated with irritation of this muscle.
In these cases, I often find that working on this muscle with the techniques shown in this video can be helpful.
General soft tissue work over the length of the muscle and then a tack and stretch type of technique can both be effective in terms of reducing discomfort and improving shoulder complex function.
