Hits close to home for the heartbroken
I had a feeling this book would stir up some emotions of a long ago unrequited love, but that raw and familiar ghost is what kept me reading. Many go through this horrible experience, and in time they wonder what the heck were they even thinking. For others, like writers, the experience of that pain is a bittersweet gift. Through journal entries, fictional shorts, and poems, the author tries to make sense of a rush of irrational emotions that flood her brain after she realizes sheâs in love, but heâs notâ
I especially liked the fictionalized shorts entitled Date with an Atheist Professor (Draft 2), and Feminist in Love. The author has a knack for humor and page-turning fiction, and I wanted more!
I love these lines:
âMaybe no one will be able to relate to me through my writing, but maybe no one has to.â
âYour brain is absolutely rewarding you for acting on every crazy thought youâve ever had.â
I hope to see more from this talented author!
