Retired Navy SEAL, Larry Yatch, shows why the popular c-clamp AR-15 grip may be fast for competition but bad for home defense. See more at [ Ссылка ]. Why? For one, the c-clamp technique limits your ability to muzzle punch (your left arm is already fully extended).
Second, your ability to retain the weapon is severely diminished with a c-clamp grip, compared to using a vertical foregrip.
Does the c-clamp technique work? Yes. Does it work faster for competition and for situations where you're shooting multiple attackers at least 3 feet away? I'd like to throw in a "this one's for fight'n and this one's for fun" reference, but absolutely...when there's no chance of going hands-on, it works great.
But in a home invasion, the distances and circumstances make it very likely that you WILL go hands-on, and the c-clamp technique puts you at an unnecessary disadvantage if you find yourself defending yourself in a struggle for your gun.
