Good day everyone! As part of my Christian ethics course, I noted the key points German jurist and philosopher of the 20th century, Carl Schmitt, wrote on the concept of the 'sovereign'. Albeit his controversial position as a Nazi jurist, he laid out some though provoking statements relating to the idea of the 'sovereign' from a theological basis. For Schmitt, a 'sovereign' is he who takes control of the state and economy, who does not let himself be subject to the laws of jurisdiction.
Anyway, I hope you'll find this insightful. As intimidating as the thumbnail looks, the content is not clickbait. Whatever I have outlined is based on the lectures I have listened from my teachers; my own personal thoughts, as well as what I have quoted from the reading.
