Unlike traditional liposuction, the HD Lipo process includes a preliminary treatment called VASER. This device doesn't extract any fat but rather utilizes ultrasonic energy to steam-heat and break apart fat cells for smoother fat extraction, better, more defined results and to achieve a higher degree of skin tightening in conjunction with Renuvion RF Skin Tightening.
Today our male patient underwent Dr. Jason Emer’s Revision 360 HD-Lipo procedure which includes lipo to the torso, chest, arms and flanks with Renuvion internal radiofrequency helium plasma, a mini tummy tuck, and fat transfer to the buttock. As a board-certified dermatologist specializing in cosmetic, laser and procedural dermatology as well as state of the art body sculpting, Dr. Emer is an expert in liposuction treatments, they are one of his renowned specialties. The Revision Lipo procedure provides body contouring to patients who are desiring to target and eliminate areas of stubborn fat and/or who are wanting a more chiseled appearance, in this case, in their abdomen.
This patient wants more definition and contour. He has a lot of looseness in the tissue so the goal is to break apart scar tissue and remove the looseness while giving him definition. Men typically have problem areas in the flanks that extend to the hip and buttock area, so this area needs to be treated to give him the best look.
Recently Dr. Emer has had a lot of patients come to the office with poor results from previous liposuction procedures. Most often this is because they were not good candidates to begin with or have lost a lot of weight since the procedure, like this candidate here, and did not have skin removal or internal heating during the liposuction procedure. Without the correct assessment and treatment, the results can be irregular, not provide the tight and defined desired look while at the same time forming scar tissue. Most times during Revision cases where there has been a botched surgery with irregularities and indentations, simply redoing the lipo doesn't help and can actually make it worse. In this instance, a mini tummy tuck needed to be performed to remove the skin and break apart the scar tissue along the lower stomach without moving or removing the belly button.
Dr. Jason Emer suggests very intensive post-op care to all of his patients to increase results and speed up the healing process. The post-op protocol includes Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, IV therapy/hydration, radiofrequency, and Venus Legacy. Lymphatic massage paired up with the above will assist with healing and pain levels of the procedure. The patient will leave with garments to compress the procedure area as well as scar creams (which you can find at www.emeragecosmetics.com) to reduce scarring from the procedure. Overall, these procedures will have a quicker healing time and reduce swelling.
The results typically can be seen 4 weeks after surgery, while the final outcome usually takes 6-12 months to truly appreciate making this treatment. Again, post-care is crucial to boosting your results and eliminating the risk of irregularities, so it is recommended to receive a lymphatic massage, hyperbaric chamber, or hormone optimization.
