first of all, I was under medical supervision doing this diet as it was part of a research study.
I have found keto to have improved my life but not without hardship and I don't think I would do anything this strict again, there is a place for carbohydrates in my opinion for sure.
the only thing I knew about the diet before doing it was that people used it to lose weight. I had to maintain my weight and had a lot more difficult physical symptoms than I've seen people talk about. I'm glad it was only 6 weeks as it was really starting to drag for me being so restrictive.
it's been a slow reintroduction of carbs but I still aim to not be eating sugary things as that did help me a lot.
