The Exmouth District High School Choir on ABC Northwest Radio on Friday the 27th of May 2011. The song "Tourists Beware!", was written by their music teacher, Jarrad Blackburn, in 2010.
Lyrics
When I was just a younger lad my Mum and Dad did come,
from the safety of the London Town into the Aussie sun,
But when I went and told my friends they all began to cry,
"Good luck" they said, "but you'll be dead, before a weeks gone by."
Cause Australia will kill you,
It'll drop you like you're lead,
There are plenty of things with bites and stings
and jaws that'll kill you dead.
The sun is unforgiving and the floods'll leave no doubt,
That it's Darwin's Law on Australia's shore that'll sort the weak ones out!
Well I didn't quite believe my friends but when the ship pulled in,
The winter sun came beating down to burn and scorch my skin,
I went to find a billabong in which I could cool down,
But a croc that was near on 20ft long, chased me out of town.
There are plenty of cute and cuddly things with teeth and claws and spurs,
the spiders here have fangs like sheers and'll take down a small bird,
And if you survive all of that and think the rest is fine,
out of the top ten deadliest snakes in the world... Australia has nine!
*Spoken* Actually, it would be more accurate to say, out of the top nine deadliest snakes, Australia has ALL of them.
