If we truly value human diversity we will stop trying to make everyone "normal" and gain the rich benefits of different perspectives. This talk focuses on the visual strengths of deaf children and how signed languages can open our eyes to the diverse ways of making meaning in the world.
Dr. Enns worked as speech-language therapist before completing her doctoral degree in Educational Psychology. She is very interested in the relationship between language and learning, and specifically the language and literacy development of deaf students.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
