K-2 students throughout South Washington County Schools recently received a $10,000 grant for Supporting Young Mathematics Scholars through America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. A check presentation took place at Royal Oaks Elementary on November 5th, where a representative from Monsanto Corp. talked about the purpose of the grant. Two local farmers were also recognized for nominating the district, and students worked on math problems with the help of several Lego kits purchased with the grant money.
