Hooks for carp fishing have got bigger and bigger. Along with test curves of rods, strength of lines, and size of weights. But that doesn’t always have to be the case and catching carp on light gear can be more productive and more rewarding. You would think that catching carp on tiny hooks would cause the wire to bend out but the smaller gape, the less likely that is to happen as the pressure is put straight through to the shank of the hook.
Match the hook to the bait size. This one was a Kamasan Animal extra strong size 18 to 2.5lb line on a single maggot.
