The original plan, says Francesco Perini, Pagani’s head of technical office, was to use as many of the street-going Huayra’s parts as possible when building the automaker's new Huayra R.
It’s just that the deeper they got into the project — and the more founder Horacio’s unending quest for perfection challenged even the world’s greatest (road-going) supercar — the more the Huayra’s parts got modified beyond recognition.
In the end, the only parts shared between the street Huayra and the track-only Huayra R were the rearview mirrors.
