If you're going to travel to China for the firs time, these are the 10 must-have apps I downloaded to survive traveling in China 🇨🇳 OK, there are actually 12 apps on my list 😅
I love how China is mostly cashless - you can add your credit card into either WeChat or Alipay, and you can pay for almost everything in China that way! I'll be going to Hong Kong too, so their pay system is a bit different. Cash is still pretty much king in Hong Kong - at least from what I found from my research.

I also know very little Chinese, so I'll be relying a lot on Google Translate, and this other app called Baidu Translate while in China. I've downloaded them ahead of time, so I can figure out how the app works.
Baidu Translate has pretty similar features to Google Translate - you can type in the words you want to translate. You can also speak to your phone and even take a picture!

Keep in mind that some Google products might not work in China, so I make sure I have back up apps for everything 😊

I'm also going to purchase an eSim for Airalo for the first time! I've downloaded the app for my Japan trip too, but I didn't really need it then. I heard the eSim for Mainland China from Airalo can act as a VPN too so I don't have to worry about that for now.
