Assembling a DIY filter for my duck pond in a 5 gallon bucket. Two layers of filter pad and 10 lbs of lava rock, simple media to keep it easy to clean out. Unfiltered we have to change out the pond water every 2 days or it gets too dirty, hoping to get 3-5 days between water changes with this. May need upgrade to finer media but we'll give this a test.

Any 5 gallon plastic bucket with a lid should work, I used a couple buckets I had from Tractor Supply and Harbor Freight.
