The god Apollo is the eternally youthful Greek god of education, healing, divination, music and the plague. Some have even contended (looking at you JJ Winckelmann) he is the “most Greek” of the gods. Is this true? Maybe a strange thing to say? We will discuss. Legitimately, Apollo’s sanctuaries at Delos and Delphi are the most magnificent and most important in the Greek world. His influence reaches into every corner of the Greek psyche and social order.
