At Hardware Pioneers 2022, we caught up with Elimo founder Matteo Scordino to talk about the Impetus System on Module (SoM), an M.2 form factor wireless module with an Allwinner S3 Arm-Cortex A7 packaged with 1GB of DDR3 RAM.
It's an impressive module in terms of specs alone, but the form factor is what really sets it aside. The M.2 connector brings a variety of interface options, but having a MIPI camera connector and RGB LCD headers right on the module is something we haven't seen often.
The Impetus’ strong point is its M2 connector, allowing you to quickly integrate it into a custom board to fit your final use case, without having to mess around with designing a Linux SBC from scratch.
Impetus is great to drop into almost any project as is, but Elimo also offers the Initium EVB, a development kit adding Ethernet, USB ports, and an audio codec among other goodies.
