Soji Recipe:
Ingredients:
250g butter
1 cup Taystee Wheat or Semolina
1 litre milk
1 extra large egg
1 tin condensed milk
2 tablespoons Papas dedicated coconut
1 tsp Papas freshly ground elatchi powder
1 Papas cinnamon stick
1 tsp egg yellow
1 tin nestle cream for topping
Papas Almonds and pistachios ( optional)
Recipe :
Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
In a large bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
Melt the butter in a pot on medium heat.
Add cinnamon stick and taystee wheat to your pot and continuously stir. Continue stirring until it turns a pinkish colour.
Remove pot from the stove.
Add the coconut and egg and milk mixture.
Whisk the mixture continuously to ensure lumps do not form.
Place the pot back onto the stove on low heat and whisk continuously.
Whisk until the milk heats up and thickens.
Remove from the stove and pour in the tin of condensed milk.
Add the elatchi powder and egg yellow.
Place pot back onto the stove and allow it to thicken.
Add soji into a tray and cover with foil.
Place into oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 10 to 15 minutes.
Soji must be soft and sticky.
Finish it off with nestle cream and slivered almonds.
