First ride on the all new 2024 Beta 450RX (thanks Cory!). Beta's first full on 4-stroke motocross model that Beta character. The engine has a smooth linear response to throttle inputs and builds RPMs quickly with a light flywheel feel. The power feels smooth overall and builds fairly quickly in the low to mid RPM range and flattens out at higher RPM's. This is a very rider friendly 450F engine. The clutch pull effort is light and there was no sense of stalling or flame out when running the engine at low RPM. The muffler is fairly quiet. There are (2) maps on the selector switch: Sun (full power) and Rain (softer power) and Traction control can be engaged in either map which effective makes (4) maps to choose from. Rain map with TC engaged really dialed back the engine response and power feel (350 like) and might be a great option for trail riding. The KYB suspension felt firm and stiff and not just new bike stiff. This is a moto setting. I opened the clickers for a little more comfort for the old school GP style track I was riding. Of course the usual hard Beta seat contributes to an overall firm feel to the bike. Ergo's felt good overall though taller riders may notice the fairly low handlebars. Beta glue on grips offer a little more cushion than ODI bolt on style. I did notice engine vibration at the handlebars. Beta Rideability on a 450F moto bike!
