The He 162 was a jet fighter created as part of Germany's emergency fighter program towards the very end of World War II. It has since gained a reputation as being terrible due to defective glues used in the wooden construction, but truthfully had they been built correctly and not rushed they were a fundamentally excellent design for the time.
