(28 Feb 2020) Large queues formed outside stores across South Korea on Friday as residents rushed to buy face masks to protect them from the new virus from China.
Dozens of shoppers at a department store in Seoul waited patiently for doors to open before rushing inside to buy the masks when trade began.
The department store said it was planning to sell more than 60,000 masks but added that it would limit the purchases to five per person.
South Korea is the hardest-hit country outside China for COVID-19, with at least 2,022 cases of the disease.
The recent surge in cases has prompted the high demand for face masks.
