Let me tell you I've been doing this for 22 and a half years and I really thought one day I would hit perfect. I'm not there yet. I'm still a human being that has human experiences. And sometimes I just have intense emotional responses and I can't see the wood for the trees. I can't. I don't have a perspective, and I don't like the way it feels. So I need a method, a system of self-reflection, so I can see things differently and then I can feel differently. Sobriety is really just two things. Sobriety is consistency that leads to a shift in perception. That's all it is.
