The closing session of this exploratory semester opens up new perspectives with an examination of the importance of clay as a factor for sustainable development. The session will address the major world issues linked to clay as a vital resource for de-pollution, the limitation of intensive agriculture, and the struggle to resist the financial pressures on agricultural land. New solutions are needed in the face of often irreversible consequences, to maintain the precarious balance between the needs of humanity, and the preservation of the fragile ecosystems that remain vital to life on Earth.
