Gatecrasher is a gate sequencer that connects 5 independent rhythm sequencers to 3 outputs.
In this video I give a quick tour of the controls and outputs, and then use the module by sending the outputs into a simple CV to MIDI board I built, and the MIDI output of this is going to a Roland MC-101.
Each output has an inverse, and there is an "off beat" output for when none of the gates are open, and a "clock" output that fires whenever any of the 3 outputs is on.
Each sequencer is visualised as a ring, and can have a length from 1 to 16 beats. Active beats are allocated in various ways, including Euclidean rhythms, and each ring can independently target any combination of gate outputs (the colour indicates the selection).
Ring synchronisation is switchable between on beats or cycles.
Additionally, each ring can have an assigned interval, and each CV output is based on the sum of intervals from all contributing rings.
