Khemia, or Khaenri’han alchemy, was essential to Khaenri’ah, as an underground civilization. But Rene and Jakob of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo thought they were using alchemy wrong. Here I want to explore this from a Jungian perspective, specifically with regards to the final steps of rubedo and citrinitas. It seems to me that Rhinedottir was trying to do something specifically with gold as the final goal: the philosopher’s stone representing Jung’s Cosmic Man, or Primordial Human. By exploring this archetype and the process of individuation, we can begin to see what both Rhinedottir and Narzissenkreuz tried to do: create a Descender. And, perhaps we can gain insight into how Albedo and Traveller fit into all of this.
