Pussy Riot was originally scheduled to perform one show in SF, which sold out almost immediately, so they added a 2nd show later that night, which sold out as well. The concert was preceded by a ~20 min clip of Professor Noam Chomsky discussing the 2016 Presidential election.

For the performance of ‘Elections’, the music video featured pictures drawn by Oleg Navalny, a political prisoner currently serving 3 years in jail.

If you think about the thing that is our greatest enemy now, the greatest enemy is apathy and the belief that nothing can be changed..

And let us care about each other, because one activist from one country should care about activists from another country..

And we truly believe through art that we can make a difference, and maybe, if you know, if maybe you didn’t, we are not real musicians, lol… We are more like a fake music band created in 2011, when Putin was about to go into his 3rd term… So yeah, just treat this band more like a political rally or activist gathering :P
