From the evening of June 15 to June 16, Meizhou's northern regions were hit by continuous heavy rains, with some areas experiencing extremely heavy rainfall. In Pingyuan County's Sishui Town, 369.3 millimeters of rain fell within 24 hours, causing severe flooding across the city.
