Broncho- Pulmonary Segments of Lungs -

Definition -
Bronchopulmonary segments are anatomically and functionally distinct regions of the lungs, each supplied by its own segmental bronchus and arterial branch. They are the smallest units of the lung that can be surgically removed without affecting neighboring segments.
1) Right Lung -
Superior Lobe :

Middle Lobe :
- Lateral Segment (S4)
- Medial Segment (S5)
Inferior Lobe :

Clinical Significance -

- Localized Infections: Certain infections like tuberculosis can be confined to specific segments.
