Dan Buettner has famously coined the name "The Blue Zones" to regions of the world where populations are notably healthier and live longer. Since his recognition of these areas, scientist have become fascinated in their diet, lifestyle and behaviors.
Vegan advocates often refer to this populations in these zones and their longevity coming from their low animal protein consumption.
But this is simply not true. The research is epidemiology not controlled. Subsets within the populations contradict this, and even within these groups there are several outliers that completely disprove this hypothesis.
