Taiwan President Tsai Ing-Wen has moved to reassure the public after the island reported its first locally transmitted COVID-19 case in eight months. Ms Tsai said the situation is under control, but urged everyone to be vigilant. The latest domestic case contracted the virus from a New Zealand pilot for EVA Air, who had failed to inform authorities on his whereabouts and people he met. So far, of the 173 people that came into contact with the pilot, 170 have tested negative while the remaining three are awaiting their test results.
