The "Dead Parrot Sketch," also known as the "Pet Shop Sketch" or "Parrot Sketch," is a famous comedy sketch from Monty Python's Flying Circus about a fictional species of parrot called the "Norwegian Blue." The sketch, which satirizes poor customer service, was written by John Cleese and Graham Chapman. It first appeared in the show's first series, in the eighth episode titled "Full Frontal Nudity," which aired on December 7, 1969.

The sketch features a disgruntled customer, Mr. Praline (played by Cleese), who argues with a shopkeeper (played by Michael Palin) about whether a recently purchased parrot is dead. Over the years, Cleese and Palin have performed numerous versions of the "Dead Parrot" sketch for television, record albums, and live performances. It was voted the top alternative comedy sketch in a Radio Times poll.
