Harley Benton makes guitars that have been getting rave reviews over the past few years, in no small part due to YouTubers singing the brand's praises. The variety of models and options they offer at working-class prices makes them hard to ignore.
In recent months the company has taken to adding roasted maple necks to their guitars - and they've reached their 7 and 8-string guitars with the new R-457 and R-458 Roasted models. Not only is the neck a new addition, but the guitars come in a blue chameleon finish, which is a first for Harley Benton and gives the guitar a nice visual appeal.
Coming in at about $300 shipped to the U.S., I was able to get my hands on an R-458 and have put the guitar through its paces in the past couple of weeks. How does it hold up? Does the roasted maple neck make that much of a difference? And is it worth the extra cost over the original R-458? Watch on to find out!
