☀ Short circuit protection is a safety feature that helps prevent damage to a battery or the device it powers when a short circuit occurs. A short circuit is a situation where the positive and negative terminals of the battery are connected directly, bypassing the normal load, and resulting in a high current flow that can damage the battery or cause other safety hazards.

In the case of a 12V battery, short circuit protection can be implemented in various ways, such as using a fuse or circuit breaker, a current-limiting device, or a battery management system (BMS). These protection methods work by interrupting the current flow when a short circuit is detected, preventing further damage to the battery and the device it powers.
