On a recent ride with a few of my good friends, I had the opportunity to ride my buddy Devon's 2021 KTM 300 XC-W. Not only did I want to see if the KTM 300 XC-W lived up to all the hype, but was also curious to see how this particular two stroke from KTM compared to the Beta 300 RR Race Edition - Beta's 300cc two stroke which I have ridden several times in the past.

My initial impressions were that the KTM 300 XC-W had tons of low-end torque, and it felt more nimble and a bit lighter than the Beta 300 RR I had ridden previously. That could be due to a multitude of factors, so it should be taken with a grain of salt. The Beta 300 RR I rode previously was a Race Edition model that has very different suspension and was highly modified, so I'm definitely not concluding that one is better than the other. What I can say though is that after riding another 300cc two stroke, I definitely have the two stroke bug again and would love to add one to my bike line up. Until that day comes however, I'll just have to keep test riding my buddies two stroke motorcycles such this amazing KTM 300 XC-W. Enjoy!
