We wanted to see what it might be like to capture a drum kit from a drummer's perspective. By placing the 013 AMBISONIC upside down over the drummer's head we were surprised at how balanced and complete it sounded right away with no additional processing.
We blended in a 1973 on the kick and 011 FET on the snare a touch more proximity effect
In the Soyuz decoder plugin, we rotated the signal slightly to make the snare feel centered, but experimenting with the rotation and dominance controls could’ve shaped this in a myriad of different ways.
