The masks of luchadores might be the the most iconic symbol of Mexican Wrestling and seemingly can be traced back thousands of years to the warriors, priests and peoples of the Aztec and Maya. The origins are a little more mundane than that, but part fo the magic and mystery of a mask is that you can apply meaning to it, and they traditionally have been used to evoke myths and legends through history.
