The initial symptoms of oral submucous fibrosis is a burning sensation in the mouth or difficulty in opening the mouth to eat (muh ka kam khulna), sometimes also with small blister formation. The mouth may feel dry with ulcers.
For the treatment for oral submucous fibrosis first thing patient needs to do is to quit betel chewing. Also some medication can help to stop the condition from progression. Surgery may be required for advanced disease to allow the mouth to open sufficiently for normal function (muh ka kam khulna ka Ilaj).
