3D Bin picking camshafts: [ Ссылка ]
FANUC America developed this robotic process to demonstrate the capabilities of FANUC’s new 3D Model Match Software – along with FANUC’s 3D Area Sensor and highly reliable FANUC robot – for fully automated 3D bin picking.
The system starts as the FANUC 3DA/1300 Area Sensor takes a quick snapshot inside of a bin of unfinished automotive camshafts. The FANUC R-1000iA/100F robot is able to accurately locate these complex parts due to FANUC 3D Model Match Software used in the system’s setup. FANUC 3D Model Match Software works by simple pattern training: During setup, the operator simply selects the area of the part, masks out unwanted areas, defines feature density and then sets the part origin and orientation.
The R-1000iA/100F robot then uses a MagSwitch magnetic gripper to pick the 25 kg camshaft from the bin, and places it onto a staging area. The robot moves to the lathe, unloads a finished part and places it into the bin of finished parts. It then moves back to the staging area and loads a raw part into the lathe. The robot’s MagSwitch magnetic gripper features a built-in degaussing feature that removes magnetism imparted by the tool. As the robot loads the part into the lathe, the gripper degausses the part, as indicated by the bright blue light on the gripper. Once degaussing is complete, the light turns red to indicate the magnet is now off.
The robot continues to perform these processes until all parts in the unfinished bin are machined and loaded into the finished bin. This system also features FANUC 4D Graphics on the robot’s iPendant, which is used to display Interference Avoidance settings in the virtual world, improving ease of use during setup and troubleshooting. 4D Graphics also displays the camera’s location and calibration, vision results, the camera’s field of view and the parts list manager. Once all parts are loaded into the bin of finished parts, the FANUC 3DA/1300 Area Sensor shuttles to the other bin and the cycle repeats.
