MY HOAGIE ROLL RECIPE MAKES 4 VERY NICE ROLLS
BUT CAN EASLIY MAKE 5 MEDIUM SIZED ROLLS
EASY FUN AND DELICIOUS
INGREDIENTS
3 Cups All purpose flour (aerated)
2 Tsp. Instant Yeast
2 Tbsp. Sugar
3 Tbsp. Melted butter
2 Large Egg beaten (one for egg wash)
1 Tsp. Salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Whisk together the
Milk, yeast, sugar, butter and egg.
Now mix in the salt and flour.
Knead the mixture for 7-8 minutes using a stand mixer.
Dough will be soft and a bit sticky.
Roll the dough into a ball.
Add 1-2 Tbsp. of olive oil to a mixing bowl.
Add the dough ball to that mixing bowl and turn a few times making sure to coat all sides with oil.
Cover with plastic wrap or a towel for 90 minutes or until dough has doubled in size.
Spread dough out on a table.
Divide into 4 equal pieces.
Roll out each piece to resemble a hoagie roll approx. 7" long
Squeeze seams and ends together.
Cover and allow to rise again for 30-40 minutes.
Pre-Heat your oven to 400°F.
Slice each roll with a lame or a razor blade.
Coat rolls with egg wash.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the bread has browned.
