This video shows real footage of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom which took place in Washington D.C. on August 28 1963. Representatives from each of the sponsoring organizations addressed the crowd from the podium at the Lincoln Memorial Including Hollywood actor Burt Lancaster, executive director of NAACP Roy Wilkins and Dr. Martin Luther King.

The march was one of the largest political demonstrations for human rights in United States history and demanded civil and economic rights for African Americans.
