Sulaimani Tea Recipe in Tamil/Sulaimani Chai/ Malabar Spiced Tea Recipe/ஜீரண சக்தியை அதிகப்படுத்தும் மலர்பார் ஸ்பெஷல் சுலைமானி டீ போடுவது எப்படி?
Sulaimani Tea (Malabar Spiced Chai) is an Indian black tea recipe flavored with whole spices and made without the addition of milk. It is quite popular in the Malabar region of India (vegan, gluten-free).
Sulaimani tea is a spiced black tea without milk. This tea is brewed to a golden color with spices like cinnamon,cardamom,cloves,ginger with tea powder and finally a dash of lemon is added too.
Sulaiman’ in Arabic translates to ‘man of peace’ and this name was given to this tea by the locals in the Malabar region because of the friendship they had with the Arabs.And with time this tea became popularly known as ‘Sulaimani Tea’ or ‘Sulaimani Chai.
Ingredients
4 cups water
1 tsp ginger grated
2 nos cloves
four 1/4 inch cinnamon
2 nos cardamom
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp tea powder
1/2 lemon
Few mint leaves
Method of Preparation
To a sauce pan add 4 cups of water along with cinnamon,cloves,cardamom,ginger and mint leaves. Mix well. Bring the spices to boil. Add the tea powder and let it boil on a low flame until color changes and the flavour is fully steeped in.
Turn off the flame. Strain the ingredients with a tea strainer.
Add the lemon juice then add the brown sugar or honey and cover the pan with a lid for a minute.
Pour in serving glasses and enjoy.
Serve hot, especially after a heavy lunch or biryani meal.
MY TIPS FOR MAKING SULAIMANI TEA:
Adjust sugar according to your taste.But make sure to make it a bit balanced as we are adding lemon juice too.
Do not add more spice than mentioned else it will become too strong.
Make sure to boil well for the spices and tea flavour to blend well.
Some even add saffron too along with mint leaves.
You can even replace white sugar with honey or jaggery powder or even cane sugar.
