Dogs are descendants of wolves and thrive on meat-heavy diets!
Just like with people, there is a lot of debate about what dogs should be eating. Are they omnivores, carnivores, herbivores, or hyper-carnivores? Should they be eating kibble or should they be eating meat? There is so much controversy and so many opinions about what is optimal that it can be very confusing.
In this video I explain why I switched my dog to an all-meat carnivore diet, how it has benefited my dog, and in very basic, simple terms, describe why I believe it is the key to optimal health for our dogs. I also touch on why consumer-grade dog food (kibble) is ruining our dog’s health and shortening their lives.
The video also contains some tips on food sourcing and how to make canine carnivore diets so affordable it actually saves you money!

QUICK TIPS FOR GETTING STARTED:
Consult a veterinarian: Before starting an all-meat diet for your dog, it's important to consult with a veterinarian to ensure that it is the best choice for your dog's individual needs and health conditions.
Choose high-quality meats: Whenever possible, select high-quality meats such as grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, and wild-caught fish, and source meat from your local community as often as possible. These meats are more nutrient-dense and less likely to contain harmful chemicals and antibiotics.
Variety is key: Include a variety of meats in your dog's diet, such as beef, chicken, lamb, fish, raw/uncooked bones, and organ meats. This will ensure that your dog receives a balance of essential nutrients and amino acids.
Cook the meat: Cook the meat thoroughly to kill off any harmful bacteria. As your dog gets used to the new diet, you can start to introduce raw meat, but it is important to be careful with the risk of bacterial infections.
Gradually adjust: Easing your dog into a carnivore diet will reduce unwanted side effects such as upset stomach, loose stools, nausea, and vomiting. Gradually reduce the amount of kibble you are feeding your dog while gradually increasing the amount of meat until your dog is fully adjusted to eating a diet of meats.
Limit organs: Organs are nutritional powerhouses, but because they are so rich in vitamins and essential nutrients they can quickly lead to diarrhea, upset stomach, and vomiting. Organs should make up a very small portion of the diet and aren't required daily. An ounce or two a week is often all that is needed. If your dog experiences unwanted side effects, reduce the amount of organs in the diet.
Hydration: Provide plenty of fresh water for your dog. Check out this video for the best ways to source and store fresh drinking water: [ Ссылка ]
Monitor your dog's weight: Keep an eye on your dog's weight, as an all-meat diet may be more calorie-dense than kibble. If your dog unintentionally begins to lose or gain weight, adjust the portion sizes accordingly.
Be consistent: Stick to the all-meat diet for at least a month to allow your dog's body to fully adjust to the new diet.
Monitor their health: Regularly monitor your dog's health and well-being and if you notice any signs of digestive upset or other health problems, consult your veterinarian.
Keep track of your dog's diet: Keep a record of the types of meats and supplements you are feeding your dog, and the amounts, so you can adjust the diet as needed.
