Hey guys! Welcome to a video all about New Orleans' Canal Street Streetcar! Unfortunately, while in NOLA, I didn't get the opportunity to film the whole system (I may do another one in the future), but I still thought I'd show at least the famous Canal Streetcar Line. It is currently run by the RTA, or Regional Transit Authority, and it opened back in 1861. New Orleans doesn't have any subways or light rail systems/lines...just an expansive streetcar system, but it really gives the city a cool, old school vibe - which goes along perfectly with the French Quarter and the beautiful architecture found all throughout New Orleans. One thing to note (as I also stated in the video) is the tracks going alongside the Mississippi River are actually part of the Riverfront Line. However, RTA currently doesn't seem to recognize this line and it is, at the moment, part of the Canal Line - which it probably should be anyways. I really enjoyed riding these streetcars and hope to get back to New Orleans in the future to film the entire streetcar system. Hope you guys enjoy!
