When last week’s catastrophic flood hit parts of south Louisiana, many of the state’s farmers and ranchers left their fields to assist with flood relief. Some launched boats into flooded neighborhoods, while others ripped sheetrock and grilled burgers for hungry residents. As Kristen Oaks-White shows us, no matter the task, Louisiana farmers were first in line to help their neighbors in need.
