Teresa Miranda has taken out the women's division at the 2020 World Cup Gran Canaria Frontón King Day.
The new Frontón Queen defeated former event winner and world bodyboarding champion Alexandra Rinder in a tight matchup held at El Frontón, Gáldar, Gran Canaria.
Miranda, who won the 2018 Spanish bodyboarding title and 2018 Frontón King, scored a Perfect 10-point ride on her way to winning the prestigious trophy.
The talented bodyboarder from Los Realejos, Tenerife, found a perfect, deep barrel and rode it till the end.
"It was the first Perfect 10 of my life. I am thrilled and very proud. I took the risk on that wave and rode it to the bottom," explained Teresa Miranda.
Rinder tried to answer back with a patient and strategic approach but was not able to get the wave she needed to beat her opponent.
Texenery García was able to climb the podium at El Frontón after defeating Begoña Martínez in the loser's final.
In the men's division, the performances of Borja Granados, Diego Cabrera, Amaury Lavernhe, Julián González, Lionel Medina, and Daniel Quintana were some of the highlights of the day.
