So first off, I do want to say that I post this video with some hesitancy. I have no idea how much Velvia Fuji supplies at any one time (in fact, nobody knows anything about how Fuji deals with Velvia...at all), and showing people how to order it in this manner could upset the balance of supply and demand. There is the possibility that if enough people start to order off of Amazon Japan, there could be shortages on the sight or prices could go up.
However, I decided to post how I order Velvia 50 anyway, for several reasons. First, let's not get carried away. The reach of this channel just isn't that great. Sadly. (Sidenote question: I'm getting more and more people saying that they just don't understand why I don't have more subscribers. Should I be concerned about that??) Second, I think that there is more of a chance that Fuji sees sales of Velvia 50 on Amazon, as opposed to a hodge-podge of dealers on eBay. This can only be a good thing right? Finally, I did run the idea by several photographers whose opinions I respect, just to make sure there wasn't some angle I wasn't seeing, and all supported the idea of making a video about this ordering method.
Also, it's one of my goals of this channel to help out fellow film photographers. I have received so much help, both directly and indirectly, over the years from other YouTube photographers, and I want to be able to pay that forward. And this will be a big help to you if you order Velvia 50 in sheet form!! Thanks for watching, and go order some film; vote with your wallet as the great Ben Horne says!
