PRACTICE TIPS
Test 1a
Make sure your chords in the LH don't drown out the tune in the RH
Observe all the rests carefully and try to make the crescendo and diminuendo as graduated as possible.

Test 1b
The change from mezzoforte to forte is sudden, but make the decrescendo at the end as gradual as possible. Notice also the little quaver rest before the last note.

Test 2a
What the examiner will be looking for here is that you can staccato in one hand while keeping the other hand sustained. Also lift gently (without a bump) the last note of each slurred group.

Test 2b
There should be no change in tone as you move from one hand to the other. It should sound as if you played everything with one hand. Place the last chord VERY softly being careful that all the notes sound at exactly the same time.

Test 3a
A firm crisp staccato is needed here, watching that the other hand remains sustained. Be sure to finish on a strong forte.

Test 3b
This also needs a firm crisp staccato. Make sure your LH minim in the 2nd bar releases on the 3rd beat and it would be good if the LH crotchets in the 3rd bar came off together with the RH staccato notes. Notice also the accents in the last bar.
