At the 2024 Joint Statistical Meetings we took a look at health equity and the ways that statistics can help us better assess and understand the challenges that lead to poorer health outcomes. Maricela Cruz and Yates Coley of Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute presented a paper on this topic titled "A Simulation Framework for Understanding the Impact of Structural Racism on Clinical Prediction Models and Evaluating Bias-mitigating Methods."
